I had this book 4 stars because what it does, it does. But on my unit, the higher speed only works with the bag. I called Black & Decker to see if I was doing was wrong, but no. It seems it was just poor! It was also a type 2 (of 4 types of fact, he told me), so that is the last image of the spinal cord is completely different than the unit I received. It seems that the image is either a type 3 or 4 Type a remembered (I found) and 2 are different. It was not a small cableComing Out to connect to my extension. Instead, there was only one round with two points projecting into the pocket on the back of the unit.
Amazon is now completely out of the factory reconditioned models, but was kind of my unit with a brand new, free of charge and replaced with a day free shipping! Thanks, Amazon! The fact that one step further for a million reasons why I actually sold, rather than with products from another Amazon seller, although it isIt 's a bit more expensive.
If I get my new, and have used it, I'm sure I'll check for the correct side, Black & Decker Leaf Hog 12-AMP Electric Blower writing / Vacuum # BV4000. I'm pretty sure that after I was able to drive to work correctly, I find that this test had a five-star product, but until then, leaves and dirt build up, and I'm waiting!

I gave this item 4 stars because what it does do, it does well. But, on my unit, the higher speed only works with the bag off. I called Black & Decker to see if I was doing something wrong, but no. Seems it was just still defective!! It was also a Type 2 (of 4 Types made, I’m told), so the last thumbnail picture of the cord is completely different than the unit I got. Seems that picture is of either a Type 3 or 4. Type 1 (recalled, I’ve found) and 2 are different. There was no small cord coming out to attach to my extension cord. Instead, there was just a round area with two prongs sticking out to plug into on the back of the unit itself.
Amazon is now completely out of the Factory Reconditioned models, but was kind enough to replace my unit with a brand new one, for no extra charge and with free 1-day shipping!! Thank you, Amazon! That just adds another to a million reasons why I tend to go with items actually sold by Amazon rather than another seller, even if it’s a bit more expensive.
When I get my new one, and have used it, I’m sure I will write a review on the proper page, Black & Decker Leaf Hog 12-AMP Electric Blower/Vacuum #BV4000. I’m pretty sure after I’ve been able to test a properly working unit I will find that this is a 5-star product, but until then, leaves and debris are piling up and I am waiting!!

My neighbor was a Trivac on her bed of flowers, and I warned him about picking up acorns and destroying his new vacuum. He said he had collected the acorns different and that there was no obvious damage to the vacuum. I am for a long time for something that would collect acorns examined (except my shop vacuum) and not break a wheel. I decided to Trivac and after he is repeatedly collect leaves, acorns and twigs, which still works perfectly. My wife, who afterlooks at me, said that even if I was to buy one years, it would be worthwhile to collect acorns. I do not expect the purchase of one year, but I agree with your statement. I wish also worked on the maple tree seed balls of rubber, but you can always have your cake and eat it.

My neighbor was using a TriVac on his flower beds and I cautioned him about picking up acorns and wrecking his new vacuum. He said that he had picked up several acorns and that there was no apparent damage to the vacuum. I have looked for a long time for something that would pick up acorns (other than my shop vacuum) and not break an impeller. I decided to try the TriVac and after using it numerous times picking up leafs, acorns and small twigs, it is still working perfectly. My wife, after watching me, said that even if I had to purchase one a year, it would be worth it to pick up the acorns. I don’t anticipate having to purchase one a year but I am in agreement with her statement. I wish it also worked as well on the sycamore gum tree seed balls, but you can’t always have your cake and eat it too.

Although my BV2500 has developed the major problem cited in many reviews,it took more than 10 years of high volume leaf vacuuming before it failed. Had 1/2 acre with many trees (60 plus) now have 1/3 acre with several. It did as good a job as any homeowner line of tools could be expected to. No tears in the shoulder bag although 99% of the time I use the leaf collection system and no noticable impeller wear (of course I didn’t try to vacuum any items that it wasn’t intended for (rocks large twigs etc.), Silly old me, I try to use a tool for what it is intended (leaves). Will I buy another? You bet I just ordered one today, and if it only lasts several years I’m still way ahead, at .00 Amazon) no tax and free delivery. Use it for what it is and take care of it as you would all your other tools.

With the Black & Decker Leaf Hog, you can clean up both the deck and the lawn with one reasonably priced and easy-to-maintain machine. This blower/vac is electric, so it requires an extension cord and an electric outlet to run, but there’s nothing else to set up or maintain. The 12 amp motor has considerable power for its size, more than enough to clear driveways or decks or blow off sections of lawn. At just over 7 pounds, the Leaf Hog is light enough to use for long periods of time, and it’s also quiet enough to use at any time of day. Switching from blowing to vacuuming is a snap–literally. The correct button took us a moment to find, but once you’ve located it, you simply depress it and remove the blowing unit, then attach the vacuum extension in its place. The extension has a bag for mulch, which attaches with a small clasp. When vacuuming, the unit mulches by sucking leaves through the fan assembly. Though this model, with its patented Vortex anticlog vacuum system, does a better job of remaining unclogged than most, you still need to be careful to avoid rocks and sticks. It also has a variable-speed control that lets you choose between 150 and 200 mph blower speed.

You can’t beat the guarantee for these units , when they wear out you just take it to a repair store and they give you a new one. very handy with the trash can unit for picking up large volumes of leaves.

I have the optional trashcan attachment, it really makes vaccing up leaves less of a hassle.
