I bought the hard surface sweeper 18V, 18V cautious with his counterparts and were very impressed with the purchase.
I used to have a power sweeper, pull the wires wherever I moved, but a new and bigger house and the old sweeper could not reach all the places in my garden.
The B & D sweeper is very light, a hand is all you need to work. The package comes with a charger for 18 hours and I have a free one-hour charger from [...].My advice is, get a load of 1 hour, otherwise the device may stop in the middle of your task. With a full charge takes me 15-20 minutes and the car starts to slow painful death to lose power. I really wish the battery held its charge longer. I do, because I have a fully charged battery for several I've always done.
I would also like device with adjustable minimum speed / fan high, Because he had a few sections around my house where I do not want to blow up the device is difficult!These are just a minor inconvenience but. The device is powerful enough to blow away the leaves of yard clippings / is, but not powerful enough to move small pebbles / stones.
If you then use the fan to the yards of small and medium enterprises, should have no problems. My full inch to the device.

Sure, I thought it was still worth it because I get another. You can not just convenience … hangs on the wall charger … just take off and fly. No wires or gas inconveninece. The NS118 is a nice compact, lightweight electric leaf blower. It takes 5 seconds to assemble, runs very quietly, and puts out enough force to clear walkways or patios of leaves and light debris quite well. The battery packs are also interchangeable with other Black & Decker equipment. I use a B&D weed whacker to trim the edges and bushes around our patio, and then just swap the same battery into the sweeper and clean up all the mess. I haven’t had battery life issues as others claim, but perhaps they are trying to cover more ground than I have to with my small yard. Nonetheless, if I leave the battery to charge overnight, it powers both the weed whacker and then the blower for at least 30-45 minutes combined. That’s plenty for my needs, and I am very pleased with both. For the price, it’s hard to beat such an effective leaf blower. Just don’t expect it to run all day or clear out huge piles of compacted leaves. But trimmings, cut grass, and other smaller buildup will soon be a thing of the past.

I bought this one for my sister in Texas. She finally wore out her old one and when I last visited her she moaned and groaned about missing it. She pointed out that we would not have to had spent so much time sweeping the leaves out of her garage if only her little sweeper/blower had not died. So I got the hint. When I got home I ordered another one for her. It is a nice hostess gift and once again I am her favorite sister!
These are sweet little blowers that in about 10-15 minutes will tidy up your patio, decks and garage with out creating a dust storm. You’ll still need your mega monster to do the big clean up jobs but this little blower/sweeper is better than a broom for small jobs.

Here’s a review I did several years ago on the ‘regular price’ B&D Broom which we’d be lost without. We also just received one of the refurbs and it’s virtually the same as the original in both performance and quality, just a lower price – YMMV :

We live in So. California with lots of cement decks and brick hardscape in both front and back. We also have a fairly large pool with many bougainvillea plants constantly in bloom.
Having used both a gas powered blower (too strong an airstream) and an electric in the past and not wanting to take a chance on dragging the electric cord thru the pool, we really wanted something that could pinpoint the stream a little better so as not to blow half the dust and leaves back in the water. The Black and Decker Cordless Broom fits the job perfectly.
Every morning about 8:am (the cordless blower is relatively quiet) I go out for my routine yard maintenance and in ten minutes the job is done and I then switch batteries from the charger so that the next day, it’s ready for duty.
After four years of use on an almost daily basis, the ‘power broom’ is like the Energizer Bunny – it just keeps going and going and going … Yes, one of the batteries was losing a little juice, so I keep it as a spare and use one of the other B&D 18v batteries from another tool (pole saw) in its place. As others have stated in various reviews, I keep one battery in the charger and one in the broom itself.
Btw, it works great for blowing out the garage floor, also. It’s amazing how many the uses and chores it makes quick work of. Frankly, I’d be lost w/o it as it’s a true timesaver 
Bottom line, it’s simply a wonderful little machine.

Great for what is made to do. I have a Toro corded blower for the driveway, but this is perfect for the deck. And it shares batteries with the B & D trimmer. Good weight and balance. Too bad a good American named product has to be made in China.

The Electric Broom is an 18V battery powered sweeper. The standard unit comes with two batteries and one charger. This is NOT the standard unit and is only the bare device and does not come with any batteries or charger. For what it is marketed as this is a very nice piece of equipment.
There have been three reasons that people have traditionally avoided Electric Lawn equipment in favor of the more traditional gas counterparts. Those three reasons are power, price and portability. These objections no longer pose an issue with the 18V Electric Broom.
The objection for more power is not so much overcome by more robust power on this unit as it is by smart marketing. You will notice this unit is NOT marketed as a blower. That is because the unit does not pack enough punch to blow debris and leafs on a lawn. It is strictly good for hard or moderately flat surfaces. The unit is more then powerful to sweep or clear out gullies and other crevices. I am sure one might want a gas powered unit to take clear out a lawn or other non-flat area.
The issue around price is also one that Black and Decker has overcome. The unit is cheap! With gasoline prices were they are this is a price difference that is not unattractive to many of us.
Finally we get to the portability aspect of the trimmer. Being battery powered the unit does not need a cord so there is no limit to its range. The battery lasts about 15 – 20 minutes before the power is noticeably depreciated (using the standard 18 volt battery). Normal usage in most area would be able to utilize the two batteries and complete the work. More in-depth work might require a bit of planning or the purchase of spare batteries. This may be one of the units from Black and Decker that due to the short battery time it may be worth looking at the extended power silver batteries from Black and Decker.
Since this is the third 18 volt battery unit I have purchased from Black and Decker I have become hooked on the 18 volt line. Since the batteries are interchangeable I am always looking at the Black and Decker 18 volt equipment first.
Remember this unit is just the model and no charger or batteries. Don’t buy unless you already have batteries and charger. The batteries alone run between and dollars so if you need these you should buy the complete unit for the money.
This is a great unit that is far more eco-friendly then a gas blower although not as powerful. It certainly makes sweeping less of a chore. I can even continue to work in my lawn during Ozone action days now! I recommend without any reservation although price point wise I can’t understand why one would not buy the unit with batteries and chargers. It is a better deal unless you have far to many batteries.

Following is a gas usedpowered blower (overflow) and an electric motor in the past and do not want to risk pulling the cord through the pool, we really wanted something that flows a bit 'better could not be established, the air blowing up half of the dust and leaves back into the water. The Black & Decker cordless broom fits perfectly to the range.

I have purchased 4 of these for gifts the past few years. My only regret is Black and Decker stopped putting in two batteries and now there have just one.
This is an amazing tool. It is not intended for blowing leaves from a dozen oak trees etc, but if you have clipping from mowing, lots of walks, patios, pool areas etc, this is the perfect tool. If you have a large yard, pool etc., you may want to invest in a 2nd battery.

I bought this B&D because I grew tired of using my plug-in electric version. Let’s face it, it’s a drag to haul out a 60 foot extension cord just to sweep some dust and leaves off the patio. I also own a gas-powered version, but it’s the same deal with that – I save it for the truly big jobs.
So, this battery powered sweeper is a good buy – but the buyer should be aware that he is not getting something you could do a Saturday’s worth of yard work with. I also recommend having a spare battery always charged, as the thing just runs out of juice too fast.
I’m glad I bought it because I just keep it in my back yard and when I need to sweep away dirt/dust, it’s handy enough for that. But don’t bother using this for any real work.

I have used this blower 4 times and find it to be lacking in wind velocity to move light debri from the garage floor and outside deck. I expected it to be close to the power of my Toro plug in blower’s lower speed but it is not. I can blow out the garage in less then 60 seconds with the electric blower but the cordless one takes several minutes and agravating effort when use to something better. I bought it for the convenience of not needing to plug in and wind up a cord. Short Battery Life . . . Shorter by the Day. – Garth –
The blower works OK for very light duty stuff, but the durations get ever shorter and shorter. I’ve had mine for a few years now, and the only saving grace is it came with 2 batteries. I get about 5 minutes out of a charge now if I’m lucky.
So yes ….. this is more or less an adult toy …..weak and cheap. Replacement batteries are grossly overpriced considering the performance they offer. . . they should be about .
